   It is a sleek, minimalist, upscale sneaker. It deserves to receive consistent high marks for comfort, look and overall appeal. The Speed Cat is an obvious success, and Puma keeps updating many combinations of material and colors to maintain the popularity of the model. The Speed Cat appears intentionally designed for a glove like fit making it seem a half size smaller and narrower than a typical street shoe. Puma PG GTX Shoes, Golf Footwear, The unisex models provide additional sizes, but the unisex and women’s models appear to use the same or very similar last.

   Bought for Looks…Got both Looks and Comfort - Got the vapor white/new navy to go with jeans and navy blue casual slacks. They were my first pair of the Puma Cat Line that I bought. Did I get a surprise — they not only look great, they fit great, they wear great, they almost massage the feet. They are comfortable for on the feet all day or on the dance floor in the evening!! And, needless to say, they stand out all day as onlookers take that second look. Plan to get a couple more soon. Rate them a 10.

   Old school - I needed new shoes for drumming but also wanted something with a little appeal. These are great for going to the club and looking good before performing with my band. They are pretty comfy for indoor soccer shoes. Zappos Rules!

   By far, the best pair of sneakers I have ever owned, so much to the fact I got a second pair, just to have if and when the first pair wear out. I usually wear skateboarding shoes, but I like the fact these Speed Cats are like slippers and conform to every contortion of your foot. The shoe is very thin and really fits around your foot, thus it is sleek and not clunky looking at all. Yet the soles are very strong, I did a 16-mile (20 kilometer) drive on a bicycle that was set up for cycling shoe pegs, meaning a very small surface area for the soles of ordinary shoes to push on. Not a mark on the soles of the Speed Cats and most important, the soles of my feet were perfectly fine. Grip on most surfaces is decent, mild rock work is possible because of just how much flex and feel this shoe gives, but you must watch not to damage the easily scuffed sides and edges of the outsoles, the leather uppers really curve under. These shoes are an excellent driving shoe, as they should be, being designed after them, but no flame retardant. I’ve driven six straight hours in them and my feet stay cool and comfortable, pedal feel excellent. They draw so much attention, folks are always looking at my Speed Cats and making comments how neat they look so cool, how sexy they look, they are absolutely perfect looking, not ugly like so many of the gaudy designs out there now. Bad point. Like most cats, they hate the wet. A very good cure that has worked with mine is several coatings of ‘Sneaker Protection - Water and Stain Repellant.’ This stuff is polymer based and the several coatings of this stuff does not show on the Speed Cats but water seems to just bead up and roll of them, even when tested under a water tap on the toes for a few seconds (I had to see for myself!) yet the shoe still breathes, your feet don’t sweat up in them and get odors. Maintenance coats every two weeks or so keeps up the protection. Just a little mild soap on the white Puma stripes keeps then new looking. Mine have seen much use but look almost brand new still, not at all beaten looking, the suede still looking like suede, and the soles show very minimal wear. This would help the folks that complain the Speed Cats get dirty too fast. Try the protectant I mentioned above, I have the new pair already protected with the spray. Final notes. I am a size 13 with a wider than normal foot. The shoes fit perfectly in length AND gave even my wide feet plenty of room side to side. Like a slipper I said, and can conclude that Puma has always made great looking and feeling shoes, the Speed Cats really hit the mark!

   I own a pair of black/pink which I got for Christmas in 2004 from mom via Zappos. I didn’t wear until recently because hard to match clothes. When I did, my feet were in agony. No arch support. They were made as if my big toe is in the middle. Pinching pain. I have a very pretty foot. Walking in NYC is tough with these shoes. Felt as if I walked on the sides of my feet. Agonizing. They are still new looking. They look like bedroom slippers on my feet.
